Beta carotene is one of the 600 constituents of carotidoids plant family. Is known as the provitamin A, which means that beta carotene in the body with food are transformed, as needed, to vitamin A.

Chinese and American scientists in joint research within this geographical area, administered in daily doses of healthy people aged between 40 and 69, various combinations of vitamins (A, B and E) and some minerals. Those who received both vitamin A and zinc, the number of gastric cancer disease fell by two thirds, while the other groups were not found significant differences.
